Chrome extension to convert temperatures

Few weeks ago i build a chrome extension for converting temperatures in fahrneheit, celsius, rankine and kelvin.

If you don’t know what chrome is, chrome is a web brwoser that you should get if you are not already using it. Check out http://chrome.google.com/ .

I like chrome because it is fast, it is clean, and has a large browsing window because it lacks a title bar and other useless bars that other browser have.

Get a weather station for your home

Few weeks ago  i went to shopping to get to my loved ones something cool for Christmas. I wanted to get different things, something you don’t buy day by day, a gadget. I searched and i searched and i found something that i liked and i want to share with you. I took the same thing for 2 of my friends. Yes, i know, lacking inspiration.

I encountered many times situations where outside was cold and i was dressed light, or outside was warm and i got all clothes on me. The technique i used for this situations was getting my head out trough the window and judge then. That was unfair, because the temperature near the windows is not relevant.

Then i saw this: a weather station for home. Maybe you think now: “what ? a thermomether ? Not. It is actually a very cool gadget, it is wireless. It is composed of 2 components. One is designed to stay outside, in a place where you want to measure the tomperature outside, it is a temperature and humidity sensor. It connects wireless to the inside component, which has a cool display that tells you the temperature from inside and outside too. In this way you know exactly what temperature it is outside plus humidity.

How humidity affects the confort of living in extreme temperatures. If outside is very very warm, let’s say 38 degrees celsius ( 90 fahrenheit ) , it is already very warm. But your body will feel the temperature transferred from it’s extremities ( skin ) to the outside. Body also produces heat and it is almost impossible to cool itself because outside is hot too. That is a problem, but a bigger problem in this situations, when the outside temperature is higher that skin temperature is the air capabilities to transfer heat. Usually, air is not a very good at transferring heat, but water is, and high humidity means that more water is in air, and that will make the air more capable of transferring heat. That results in more heat that comes to your body, which will make your life very inconfortable.

Using a weather station on your home, you will know how to dress, and you will know when you MUST stay at home! So, you should get yourself a weather station
